9:30 Wellness in Healthcare Practices. Trendy or Mutually Beneficial? - Molly S. Clark, PhD, ABPP

There has been increasing emphasis in wellness and wellbeing in the healthcare workforce over the course of the last ten years. While the factors influencing wellbeing have strong research support, there is continued debate about how to build the workforce structure to facilitate access and reinforce wellness behaviors. In the midst of these efforts, a pandemic occurred and taking care of the physician and healthcare workforce became paramount. This session will focus on what research already tells us about wellness and will also cover how a pandemic informed efforts to further support and provide care for the healthcare workforce. In addition, benefits and barriers in practice environments will be discussed.  It is expected that participants will be able to describe what constitutes wellness,  describe factors influencing  wellness within practice environments, and be able to create a plan for how to institute strategies for promoting  wellness into practice environments.
